25 years Reichmuth Pilatus

For a quarter of a century, we have been successfully investing for our clients with the Reichmuth Pilatus fund in Swiss second-line stocks that have a strong market position and are well managed. Most of the companies have a long-term oriented main shareholder. In our quality-oriented selection process, people and trust in management are central.

To celebrate the anniversary, we had the pleasure of welcoming around 100 guests to an anniversary event in the Kalandersaal in the «Papieri» in Cham. Our hosts Silvan Betschart and Philipp Murer managed to put together a well-balanced program with interesting personalities and well-known companies. As moderator of the investor event we could win Mark Dittli from the online financial portal «The Market». Mark Dittli has been a business journalist for 20 years and is well versed in classifications, analyses and opinions on what is happening on the financial markets. He skillfully led through the event.

Philipp Buhofer and Lukas Fehr from Cham Group opened the insight of the selected companies. Cham Group is developing the site of the former paper mill. On the site of the “Papieri”, a new quarter is being built on eleven hectares in six stages, each with around 1’000 apartments and workplaces, in line with the principles of sustainability. In addition, the Campus of OYM («On Your Marks») is being built on the site.

OYM was also present at our event. The company was launched in 2016 by sports visionary Dr. Hans-Peter Strebel. Dr. Strebel is convinced that a successful future for Swiss elite sports can only be secured through the targeted promotion of up-and-coming athletes. Thus, the ambitious idea of combining athletic training and science in state-of-the-art infrastructure was born. OYM wants to open up new opportunities for Swiss top-class sport and set new standards. After Dr. Hans-Peter Strebel captivating presentation Reichmuth & Co handed to the OYM-Foundation a substantial sponsorship contribution on behalf of the companies involved in the event. We are pleased to contribute to the support of young and talented athletes.

Walter Scherz, CFO of Dätwyler Holding, showed us the interesting growth prospects of the Group. Dätwyler focuses on high-quality, system-critical elastomer components and holds leading positions in growing, global niche markets. Thanks to recognized core competencies and technology leadership, the company offers customers high added value. Walter Scherz addressed the current supply chain challenges in his presentation and explained why the recent acquisition of QSR makes strategic sense and is complementary.

To finish, Alex Waser gave us an insight into Bystronic. Bystronic was for years the “core” of the conglomerate «Conzzeta». Today, after a successfully implemented focusing strategy, Bystronic is independently listed on the Swiss stock exchange. The company is a leading global technology company in the field of sheet metal processing. The focus is on the automation of the entire material and data flow of the “cutting and bending” process chain. The intelligent networking of laser cutting systems and press brakes with innovative automation, software and service solutions is the key to the comprehensive digitization of the sheet metal industry. Bystronic stands for customer proximity, high-performance innovations, outstanding service and local expertise. Although the company is currently suffering from the upheavals in the supply chains, Alex Waser was able to point out the long-term growth opportunities in its presentation, whether in the software area or the expansion of its own service organization.

As hosts, we look back on an interesting event with informative and educational presentations. We would like to thank the speakers and guests for their participation in this anniversary celebration and for the stimulating conversations during the Apéro Riche.
