This time everything is different – also in monetary policy?
At the Reichmuth & Co Lecture No. 10, Prof. Dr. Axel A. Weber, Chairman of the Board of Directors of UBS, gave a lecture. His lecture dealt with the exciting topic of monetary policy and the long shadow of the 2007 crisis.
Prof. Dr. Axel A. Weber is Chairman of the Board of Directors of UBS AG and UBS Group AG. He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute of International Finance, a member of the Board of Directors of the International Monetary Conference and the Swiss Bankers Association, and a member of the Group of Thirty. From 2004 to 2011, Axel A. Weber was President of the Deutsche Bundesbank. During this time, he also held the following positions: Member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank, Member of the Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements, Governor of the International Monetary Fund for Germany, and Member of the G7 and G20 Ministers and Governors. His academic career includes professorships at the universities of Cologne, Frankfurt/Main, Bonn and Chicago. He received his doctorate in economics from the University of Siegen, where he also completed his habilitation.
